Sir - Almost two thousand years ago a young man taught the people who lived in the area where he was brought up how they should behave towards each other.

He was telling them what they already knew but had forgotten. There was however a problem. Most of the political class of the time did not like the message that he was preaching.

They knew that if he was allowed to continue his preaching then they would lose the control that they held over the population. These politicians had tried to scare him away and failed. They tried to shut him up and failed. They wanted him out of their hair once and for all .

The young man knew what these politicians wanted but he continued with his mission. He knew that he would suffer humiliation, ridicule, torture and ultimately an awful death. He continued to carry on with his mission .

I would ask your readers what they would have done in similar circumstances. There never has been or ever will be again anyone just like that young man. Alas I cannot say the same for the politicians .

This week is known in the Christian world as Holy Week and if you want to experience something of that young man's agony then just for one hour find somewhere quiet and think what he was going through. Believe me it will be well worth your while .

I am sure that your readers know that the young man was Jesus. The politicians were members of the Sanhedrin, a so called supreme council in Jerusalem .

Happy Easter.
