Sir - Cllr. Prodger seems to be a bit of a walking disaster area. Quite apart from the scandal of the payment to Mark Yates of £3000 from public funds for a back operation, and that to a man earning £122.000 per annum, there is the matter of the Newtown Road bus lane fiasco which he championed. At enormous expense many perfectly healthy trees were felled along a stretch where only one city bus per half hour runs even at peak times. The scheme cost millions and is used on a long and presumably expensive stretch by the No. 31B bus only. All other buses diverting around the Ronkswood estate. Unbelievable.
