Sir - What are some parents doing? Many children between 5 and 9 years of age, (almost 26,000,) had to be hospitalised to have multiple teeth extractions in 2013-14, i.e.,nearly 500 every week. What a scandal!
Grayam Banby,vice president of The British Dental Federation,said it relates to the consumption of energy fizzy drinks.That is not surprising when one sees just what some youngsters consume on the way to and from school and even in their lunch time.
I feel lucky that when I did my schooling during wartime in the 1940’s, such drinks were scarce and sweets were rationed even if one had the money
