Sir - AS a child in the latter part of the 1940's . I remember visiting the old cattle market in the Butts, with my friend Pam Bray,

in the school holidays. We watched the cows having their udders washed with warm soapy water, and then their coats.

Which they seemed to enjoy as much as we did watching.

One day we were walking back home in St. Johns, and a cattle truck came by, full of cattle, and somehow the back of the

truck became loose , and one or two of the cattle escaped , they were charging around all over the place.

Some people were going home from work, and the majority of them rode bicycles, so they stopped to watch the farmers trying

to round up the cattle.

Then suddenly one of the cattle , possibly a bull started to charge people , and I 've never seen so many people , move

so fast on their bikes, like bats out of hell.

I often think of it, and laugh to myself, I wonder if anyone else remembers it.
