SIR, On Tuesday July 15, my daughter and I set out on our holiday to Cornwall. We decided to call for petrol at the Tesco Express garage on London Road.
Imagine our consternation when, having filled up, we could not locate the credit card anywhere!
After the cashier informed us that it had not been left in the machine, we began a frantic search, but to no avail.
We were about to drive off and inform the bank, when we decided to return to the cash desk and make one final enquiry. What a relief when we were told that a lady had just handed it in!! It must have been dropped on the forecourt whilst carrying lots of other items.
We don't know the identity of this kind, thoughtful lady, but through your paper we would like to thank her so much for saving us from what could have been a much delayed and upsetting start to our holiday.
MARY JONES, Hallow
