Sir - In response to Ms Tanner's letter regarding bird scarers. This is a recommended, regulated, essential and successful form of bird control to protect crops during the growing season;British farmers have to follow and adhere to stringent growing guidelines as opposed to produce grown and imported from other countries
These local farmers are passionate about reducing airmiles and pollution and strengthening the British farming economy by growing local British produce, on local land.
Yet again, this is another case of those living in towns attempting to question the knowledge and understanding of hardworking, dedicated local farming families who work very long hours, from dawn till dusk, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Local farmers who strive to ensure that farming practices remain prominent within the British countryside and who are proud to support this precious, wonderful rural way of life.
