SIR, Regarding Mr Winwood's letter about St Andrew's Gardens.
Yes, I quite agree - a disgrace. But it's shame on 'Joe Public', not our local hands-on cleaning and gardening team. It's the same very summer. I live nearby and can assure you the team are in every morning cleaning all the mess (including all shattered glass). They must be totally fed up with it. The minority who smash their beer bottles (late evening) shouldn't be drinking alcohol in the gardens at all.
So let's have some regular policing and maybe more litter picks in summer months (and a few more bins maybe?)
