Sir - Perdiswell Park has featured twice recently in Worcester News, on 4 August the article of the gentleman golfer appealing for safety after his lucky escape from being hit in the face by a golf ball and secondly a letter on the 5 August questioning the value for the taxpayer of maintaining this vast area for golf.

The golfer who narrowly escaped serious injury warns others to be on their guard when out walking on this public open space.

If golfers are not safe playing on this course then what chance have the general public of keeping safe.

I know of several members of the public that have been hit by flying golf balls.

Is it not time the Council reviewed their risk assessment and concluded that golf on a Public Open Space is not conducive to safety?

Will the Council take this matter of safety seriously before another person suffers injury or even a fatality?

Does the Council regard revenue from golf as a priority over public safety?

It is not as though there is nowhere else to play golf as there is a perfectly good private golf course immediately adjacent to Perdiswell Park.
