SIR - After reading Pete Yeoman's letter 'Will Council take safety seriously' Thursday, August 14, I feel I must put pen to paper.

My wife and i walk our dog around Perdiswell Golf Course on a regular basis and have never had any problem with flying golf balls. Simply because we stay to the paths provided.

If anyone is stupid enough to walk across the middle of the course when someone is playing then it's their own fault if they get hurt.

We don't play golf but we have always got on with the golfers who seen very happy to play there.

Mr Yeomans seems to think that the Council do not care about public safely but if common sense prevails there would be no problem.

Let's fact it if all the players did go over to the other nearby club the land would soon become just another sprawling housing development and who would want that. May be Mr Yeomans.
