A sinister development in recent years has been for the GB and Europe team to be dubbed simply : Europe, and to be bedecked in the EU’s blue flag
This flag is NOT an all Europe flag, but the banner of an organisation un-associated with golf, which is trying to bask in the teams reflected glory to mask its catastrophic currency : the euro - - its reputation for fraud and corruption, and non existent accounting.
There are other European countries who could provide team members for the GB and E. team, who are not in the EU, and several including Russia would not play under this contentious emblem.
In 2011 they managed to dupe our ladies Solheim Cup team into using it, even though the team’s star player was not from an EU country, namely : Suzann Pettersen of Norway.
