Sir - I am very surprised to see in the paper today, that the Council went ahead and widened the A4440, and enlarged the Ketch Island before taking into consideration the expense of widening the Carrington Bridge and mile long road to the Powick Island which will have to be built on pillars, and before getting the necessary funding from the Government.

That was definitely putting the cart before the horse and has done nothing to deal with the congestion in the Centre.

When it was announced you were asking Robin Walker to ask the Government for funding, I wrote to him & you and suggested that instead you applied for a grant from the EU Flood Fund to build the New Bridge at Bevere and complete the Northern Link Road, but you ignored my advice.

Not many days pass by without letters in the Press asking for the completion of the Ring Road, but you continue to keep you heads in the sand and waste money!!

The latest waste is Geraghty's Folly, which far outshines Prodger's Folly of the Bus Lane in Newtown Rd. When are we going to get a Council with brains that listen to the common sense of the People!!

The widening of the A4440 and larger Ketch Island has done nothing at all to deal with the traffic jams in Worcester, which are getting worse until the New Bridge is built and the ring road completed. Then people will want to visit Worcester, which a lot are not doing at present.
