Although Scotland is to remain part of the UK, the referendum made it clear that nearly half the population wants to sever ties from our union.

And so, the time has come to redress the financial imbalance between England and Scotland.

The message to Messrs Cameron and Miliband is clear: No more bleeding the English people dry to fund the Scots.

UKIP wants a complete revision of the ‘Barnett Formula’ by which Scottish people get £1,600 more of taxpayers money per head than their English counterparts.

We want a full debate and vote in the House of Commons to rebalance this arbitrary and woefully out-of-date concept.

Without any electoral mandate on this matter from the British people, Cameron and Miliband promised the Scottish that they would maintain the unjust Barnett Formula, meaning the English pay for it, and get nothing in return.

The English people are sick of being the suckers who pay more, and get less of a say in return.

Will Messrs Cameron and Miliband now tell us up front: Are they going to keep their ill-advised and panicked promise made before the Scottish referendum and continue to bleed the English taxpayers dry?

As matter stand, Scottish MPs still have a say on English laws, yet we don’t have a say on theirs. This is fundamentally unfair. For once, the Government must give the English people a fair deal.
