Sir - I am writing in regards to the recent application of Worcester City FC to build a new stadium with community facilities at Perdiswell.

Specifically, I would like to address the concerns that the residents's action group have over traffic congestion. While it is understandable that people are concerned about the above, I believe the impact would be far less of a problem than the residents imagine.

For instance, traffic issues on match days at St. George's Lane were never a major concern; in fact the roads in the vicinity were far more cramped and liable to congestion than the roads around Persdiswell.

Moreover, with matches taking place on Saturday afternoons or weekday evenings, commuter/school traffic is not a factor.

Finally, in regards to traffic, it is important to remember that Worcester City in their last season at St.George's Lane had an average attendance of around 700 (sad, but true!) and a large proportion of these fans made their way to the ground without the use of a motor vehicle.

In regards to the facility itself, I believe it is a perfect accompaniment to overall development of Perdiswell. Furthermore, I believe that the proposals represent the best available solution for the club as well as providing facilities that will be available for the community.
