SIR - I see that Nigel Farage's comment that immigrants with HIV should not be allowed into our country has provoked the now usual incandescent response from the liberal metropolitan elite, and its fellow bag carriers.

More than 5,000 immigrants a year are apparently being diagnosed as having HIV, which I understand costs around £20,000 per year per patient to treat and control.

If you stop and do the maths that would mean foreign HIV patients are adding cost of around £100 million a year to our NHS every year. Even if that situation has only pertained since 1994 the compounded costs of HIV treatment for foreign patients (by our NHS) is around £23 billion. And that soars to more than £60 billion if you add in social care costs such as housing and benefits etc. Do that for a normal lifespan (50 years) and the cost rises to £3,000 million (or £3 trillion). Nowhere in the media have I seen any members of the liberal metropolitan elite bemoaning the fact that this treatment is available to foreigners at such huge on-going cost to this country's people in taxes, whilst our own are denied the (health) care they need - especially our old and those afflicted with cancer.

It therefore seems tome that those who represent us have their apples in the wrong basket as usual, and that once again UKIP's People's Army has revealed things the liberal metropolitan elite, and its fellow bag carriers, would prefer to keep to itself!
