Sir - The "transfer" of the car park behind the Swan Theatre to the University has caused considerable difficulty for people wishing to park in that part of town.

Another "deal" done behind closed doors without thought for the public.

The flack, quite rightly, has been directed at the City Council whose response has been a helpless: "What can we do? The deal's been done!" This, of course, is arrant nonsense. Any deal can be undone: particularly when it's between two public sector bodies which should have the interests of the people of Worcester at heart.

Pressure should also be put on the University to undo this deal.

I will be writing to the Vice-Chancellor to suggest that, as a gesture of goodwill towards the people of Worcester, he should voluntarily release the Council from this contract. Perhaps, if enough people do likewise, the message will get through.
