Sir - Re the swimming pool, the article in the Worcester News/Berrow's Journal gives a "cautious'' annual usage figure of 288,885 pa required before the subsidy could be reduced.
Divide this figure by 365 days and we find the new pool would require 791 visitors per day before any reduction in subsidy.
I trust this calculation does not include the other Leisure Centre facilities currently at Perdiswell.
I wonder whether it is at all likely that there would be an average of 791 visitors to the pool per day, and if not, does that mean the subsidy would rise?
As it was an in-house report that provided this figure, I'm sure the Council can explain how it was calculated.
If the figures were taken from the Sansome Walk patrons, I hope the gym clients were not included in the overall assessment.
Over recent months and years we have heard how the costs of various government projects have increased to double, and sometimes more, from the original estimate.
I must admit I am sceptical that the estimated construction costs of the pool will be held, let alone decreased as the Conservatives are suggesting.
