Sir - The County Councils Chief Executive's statement (Worcester News 6th November) that she “has made a plea to workers at risk of losing their jobs - saying she is determined to keep morale up” must have felt like a kick in the teeth to many County employees.

Does she not realise how worrying this situation can be for employees.

She might as well just said - Cheer up you lot, you may be losing your jobs or terms of employment, but never mind at least I’ve still got my job.

Perhaps she should go around singing: “I can smile when things ain’t funny. Happy go lucky me”.
