Sir - So the deep thinking in darkened rooms is over, and the combined brainpower of the highly skilled technocrats who designed the mess we call Whittington Island have come up with the solution- its the people who correctly use the slip road that need educating, not the idiots who wrongly turn left at an island clearly marked with 'straight on' arrows!

The solution, obviously, is to turn the unnecessary slip road into a kaleidoscope of colour, with splashes of yellow, flashing signs, and a plethora of other markings designed to give you a headache. Oh, and to cut down trees, making the whole mess a concrete eyesore.

The problem has always been drivers turning left wrongly at the island. Causing people correctly using the slip road to brake. Resulting in rear end shunts.

The solution? Close the sliproad. But that would mean admitting they got it wrong wouldnt it, and that they wasted public money. So this absolute farce goes on.

I genuinely had to check the the date on our 'News' to ensure it wasnt April fools day.
