SIR - It was a pity and an opportunity lost, not to have had the completion of the northern link A4440 to be part of the Governments £15 billion plan for UK road building. I would posit that had there been a working group and consensus among the WCC, the District Councils, the LEP, Worcester & Hereford Chamber, the Shenstone Group and the three local MPs working together in the interests of Worcester and its environs, we might have benefited from a slice of the £15 billion to complete the ring road and as a consequence have welcomed more industry, growth and jobs.

Even the widening of the Carrington Bridge is still subject to approval – not that it will solve

the problem when 2,150 houses are built on 'The Temple Laugherne' site with the 3000 extra cars having no choice but to try to get to Whittington or into the City over its one bridge.
