SIR - Congratulations to Sean Geddes on his ''rabona'' goal, but I'm not so sure it's a new thing . I seem to remember my dad demonstrating something similar in the late fifties or early sixties . The only difference is the ball stayed on the ground . with the balls they had then a lob from that position would be almost an impossibility. I used to go all over the local area with my dad . I remember him playing for MECO and Bruff, to get to their pitch the players had to cross a log bridge over a brook to play on a pitch covered in cowpats .
