SIR - Here we go again 103 homes on the Ketch Fields with a minimum of 103 cars and shops with delivery lorries on small roads to service them.

There are already plans by St Modwen for 255 homes on the next plot of this land bringing the amount of cars exiting this development every day to a possible 500 on to the A38 near to a busy garage and petrol station right across two way traffic a few metres from the new Ketch Island which could lead to gridlock in the area at rush hour.

There are four schools in this area, three village schools at Kempsey, Norton and Whittington and the largest school is down Bath Road, Cherry Orchard, which can take up to 600 pupils and they are full up now so there is nowhere for any children from these sites to go.

Taylors Lane is down to be one way traffic with a footpath and a cycle path. How will all these cars get along there anyway.

St Modwen also has plans for commercial/employment premises on the same piece of land but near the Norton Island and more vehicles!

The other side of Taylors Lane Welbeck are planning to build 2,200 homes.

Surely this must be over development of the area!

What a total waste of £8m if all this development goes ahead.

It's about time the City Council stood up to these builders for the sake of our city and its present residents who will have to live here afterwards.
