Sir - On Saturday evening, we had the privilege of attending a Christmas Carol Service in the beautiful, newly restored Chapel at Pershore Cemetery.
Running for its second year, it is especially for the recently bereaved and after losing my Father-in-Law and my Dad in the last 4 months, this service brought my Husband, my Mum and I enormous comfort.
As my Dad is buried immediately outside the Chapel, it felt like we were still including him in part of our Christmas commemorations.
During this service, the Christmas tree was adorned with stars on which we wrote personal messages to our loved ones and we had candles which were lit for us to place on the altar for them also.
It truly was very moving and the Chapel looked so beautiful with all the wonderful Christmas foliage and burning candles.
I would like to thank Chris Parsons & Jan Parsons, Ann Dobbins, Pershore Town Council, Reverend Mark Jennings, Rebecca Wallbank (Youth Mayor) and Pershore Town Choir all very much indeed for providing this service and hope that everyone who attended found the same comfort that we did. Christmas is hard this year but this is the kind of thing that I find helps.
Mrs Trudy Burge
Pershore
