SIR, What is wrong with sending a Christmas card to a friend? Nothing.
What is good about sending a Christmas card to a friend? Everything.
- You are showing someone you don't see very often that you still think of them.
- It is always nice to receive a communication from friends, especially at Christmas.
- You are helping the economy of this and other countries.
- You are keeping many thousands of people in employment.
- You are helping to keep the Post Office open.
- You are helping human and animal charities, if you buy charity cards.
I can't think of a reason not to send and receive a Christmas card. It costs money, but so does everything. For just about £1 you can send a card to another country - what a bargain!
So I say, send more Christmas cards, not less.
Merry Christmas to all readers.
