Sir - On 14th January at 7.30pm, we will be hosting another public meeting at Perdiswell Leisure Centre to discuss the formation of a residents’ campaign group and how to put more pressure on the County Council to make Bilford Road safer.
It was therefore interesting to read the recent Worcester News report about the suggestion that the recycling centre on Bilford Road could be relocated to the former site of Perdiswell Park and Ride.
Like Cllr Gareth Jones, we have heard residents express concern about vehicles queueing beyond the canal bridge.
In 2012, we asked the County Council if it would consider widening the access to the recycling centre but this request has clearly not been acted upon.
The suggestion to move the recycling centre comes just weeks after the first public meeting to discuss Bilford Road, and it is encouraging to learn that fellow councillors are now considering solutions to ease congestion on the road.
Perhaps they would also be willing to put pressure on the County Council to make the road safer to cross by the Premier shop near the Astwood Road bend?
