SIR - The planners have done it again!

No foresight.

Last Saturday my wife and I had cause to drive into town. I think our grey hairs entitles us to drive to to a little local shopping at Tallow Hill.

From Sidbury we found City Walls Road beginning to get crowded at St Martins island and observed total blockage coming from the opposite direction, Butts/Shaw Street/Sansome Walk.

We returned from Tallow Hill relieved of some of our pension to find even more congestion at St Paul's island and at City Walls.

Surprise, surprise! This is caused by the closure of Lowesmoor. Meaning that traffic trying to get to Rainbow Hill and Tolladine have to go all round via Pheasant Street and the very busy entrance to Asda.

The planners (an ironical laugh here) had due warming of what would happen when they closed Lowesmoor last year for a make-over.

All this congestion happened then, traffic at a standstill, churning out fumes and frustration. Will planners never learn, whose knuckles will be rapped?

I would advise avoidance of the area if possible. How about a park and ride? Now there's a novel idea!
