BBC in denial
SIR, Since my last letter, January 26, to you in respect of background noises emitting from TV programmes, I have had a reply from the BBC in which they apologise about the inconvenience of my complaint, I quote "We add music to try and complement the footage and not annoy anyone", unquote, in other words this is just a polite way of denying that any action will be taken to cease the noise which annoys so many viewers.
