Sir - The groundshare option for Worcester City FC must be welcome news for fans (Worcester Warriors open to talks over Sixways ground-share with Worcester City, 13th February 2015).

The Perdiswell stadium option, hailed by many as the salvation of the club, can offer no more financial security than a groundshare does.

Being on land leased from the Council, and built with charitable funding as suggested, how can the financial situation be said to be improved?

But Sixways, so close to Worcester and well connected by road and footpaths, surely offers the chance of a return to the average 800-odd gates and more income. It also has ample car parking, which the Perdiswell plan lacks.

The aim of providing a 'community' sports facility is entirely secondary to the desire to see City in their own ground, irrespective of the loss of open space. Is it pride that makes so many supporters of the Perdiswell plan determined to shout down the local opposition and remain hostile to the idea of a groundshare?

The Sixways option must be explored in full before any consideration is given to building on Perdiswell Park.
