SIR - Is it not unprecedented for an Archbishop to meddle in politics, particularly so near an election.

Surely it is their calling and all clergy whatever their rank; to remind us of our Christian heritage mainly based on the ten commandments.

How many youngsters if asked would even know what the ten commandments were or even having heard of them.

As Lord Tebbit so succinctly remarked and I quote:

"In my experience when people are not doing very well in their own job they become very much better at telling other people how to do theirs. This is a classic case of that."
