Sir - I refer to your recent article concerning high level talks about the relocation of the Fire Headquarters to Hindlip, I see that there is no mention of consultation or discussion with either Members of the parish councils representing Fernhill Heath and Hindlip, or the local District or County Councillor, himself a member of the fire authority.

The article talks of a new building to house the service - is planning approval already gained? There is no mention of this, which will need to be of careful consideration when the extra volume of traffic generated from this development will put pressure on the already congested and busy roads around the area, like Hurst Lane, Droitwich Road and Hindlip Lane. Also care must be taken of the design of a new building in such an attractive environment as Hindlip Hall.

The highways in the area are due to come under immense pressure over planned new housing in the area,so I would appeal to the planners of the site to take this in consideration.

One solution may be for all traffic from Hindlip Hall to be one way in (say of Hindlip Lane) and one way out, (Hurst Lane) - or via versa - with traffic lights fitted for the exiting traffic.

I would also ask if other sites have been considered - with so much new development planned in Worcester of commercial sites is there not a better location.

Whilst I fully appreciate that both the fire and Police do a fantastic job, and are both under pressure from financial constraints, I would ask that neither service tries to walk over the feelings and lives of residents who may be affected.
