Sir - Your article "Stars of stage and screen applaud therapy program" reflected much needed attention to children who stammer or have other speech difficulties. The fact that stars of the stage and screen are supporting this effort is heartening.
The statistics you mentioned for child stammering are all too familiar. In addition to what the article mentioned about help available for children, I would like to add that the website of The Stuttering Foundation (www.stammeringhelp.org) offers a slew of free resources for children and parents. The website of this non-profit charity also is a wealth of information on stammering in general. The site has a long list of famous stammerers as well as a section of celebrity articles on stammerers such as Rowan Atkinson, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Noel Gallagher, Lewis Carroll, Gareth Gates and Paul Young.
