SIR - After reading the Worcester News which I received free from a neighbour I though I must air my views on the agile and younger generation.

Has anyone noticed how the prospects of making life easier for the elderly and disabled are marred and turned down simply because they only think it will be of no significance or help to them.

The plan for the new Sky Bridge would mean easier access to town for elderly and disabled wheelchair users, no copping of work due to traffic, a nice leisurely stroll in the summer sunshine from one end to the other. In my local in Leigh Sinton we were saying what a brilliant idea.

The the chair lift on the Malvern Hills another brilliant idea. I was only there last year taking in the warm sunshine when I saw an elderly gentleman lying down and his wife by his side. She asked me could I help, he's having a heart attack. I reached for my mobile and pressed the emergency button. Paramedics and air ambulance were there within five minutes.

I do believe he made a full recovery. May be if the chair lift had been operating it would have made life easier for that man. It makes me sick when good projects like these are turned down due to the few minority don't like it.
