Sir - The fans of the proposed Perdiswell stadium appear to be treating the planning process like a football match, but no matter how loudly you cheer, you cannot will your team to victory.

So it is with the stadium application. The various specialist consultee comments published online reveal the fundamental weakness in the Supporters Trust's game. The omissions, inadequate preparation, half-truths and a bit of foul play leave the bid looking unlikely to bring home the trophy.

Two years after we heard the plans were nearly ready, the application still looks shaky going forward and is missing the target hopelessly. At the end of the day, it would be a terrible shame if Worcester City FC went down because no-one dared to suggest a change in tactics.

Being shown the red card and blaming the referee (or the opposition) while crossing your fingers and shouting very loud is not the same as having a credible strategy. City need a realistic 'Plan B'.
