Sir – Living in St Johns and being asked how the traffic was by my wife, and replying “great once I was over the bridge” so many times set me thinking. I have noticed small Grey Boxes on long poles over every set of traffic lights west of the river bridge. What’s it all about?..This is my theory.

The City and County Councils are:-

Reducing the traffic jams in the Eastern side of the city at peak times keeping 75% of its residents reasonably happy and unlikely to demand a second river crossing, by leaving the 25% living on the Westside sitting in their cars for 35 plus minutes every morning waiting to get over the river bridge, monitored by little Grey Boxes. Am I wrong? Are the Jams deliberate? Why are there 5 additional sets of traffic and crossing lights on Bromyard Road when only a few years ago there were none? All with little ‘Grey Boxes’? Worcester needs a Duel Carriageway Ring Road and a second River crossing NOW! not little Grey Boxes.

Can The Worcester News champion this ‘injustice’. Situated on Hylton Road you can observe first hand the total disregard Worcester City Council have for the people of the Westside.
