SIR - In the Worcester News letters recently, Mr Bird accused Councillor Layland of helping to vote through cuts by the council, having abstained in the voting. I am sure Councillor Layland's experience tells him how to vote or when to abstain and, after reading Mr Weaver of the city finance department reporting a shortfall in the Labour Government's funding, obviously economies were necessary.
So, was it Councillor Layland or the Labour Government who was responsible for the economy cuts and the increase in council tax?

But on subject, Mike Layland does nothing. Lazy except for around an election and always votes with the tories. Not misguided at all I am afraid.

Of course he did, indirectly. I agree with one thing that Frank Bright says and that is that Councillor Layland knew just what he was doing in abstaining.
I am afraid that Councillor Layland knew that by abstaining, it was a sure vote for the tory cuts.
The sad thing is that Councillor Layland does't have the guts to show his true colours in the tories pockets, because his constitients would throw him out of his ward at the first opportunity.
Independant? I'll be the judge of that.
