Weather is blamed for lack of visitors

SIR – So the good people at Wychavon leisure have rolled out the old chestnut that its blaming the elements for lack of numbers at the Droitwich lido this year.
If these people had got away from this romantic notion of long hot summers in this green and pleasant land of ours and had built a covered facility that would have been patronised all year round in the first place, this would not be an issue.
I fear the alarm bells are already beginning to ring for this facility.

Whilst I was growing up, I used the Malvern Lido many times - it was a special place (freezing cold water but great fun).
Today the Indoor Pool is built where it once stood. Very flash, very nice, but not half a fun as the old Lido used to be.
