My votes passed

SIR – I have voted to stop the 97 million euro subsidy to bullfighting and the 305 million subsidy to grow EU tabacco, which is cancer promoting poor quality rubbish anyway. Both were passed. If only the taxpaying voters understood.

MIKE NATTRASS MEP, UKIP West Midlands.

What arrogance this man has. Trying to interfering in a national past time in Spain and stopping european farmwrs from growing native tobacco.

I cannot remember seeing any anti smoking material in his election address and I certainly didn't see an so called animal rights material.

Imagine if the EU had tried to stop fox hubnting in this country and there is Natrass trying to stop bull fighting.

So uk is clearly anti rural puruits.

Here's another strange comment from Norton sage - somebody else who needs to change their glasses!

I think you may have "tunnel-vision", Norton - sorry.

Bull fighting - bad!
Tobacco - bad!
Fox hunting - not quite the same.
EU - bad! - Very bad!
True Democracy - good!
English Democracy - very iffy!
Hospitals - good!
Hospital Management - Bad!

That's how it goes, Norton - get the idea?

Dear Norton Sage,
You show your ignorance of how the EU elections work and also make me question the veracity of your comments.
You could NOT have read Mike Nattrass' EU election address. In the EU elections no individual candidate has an election address as you do NOT vote for individuals you vote for a Party. The only manifesto which exists are Party manifestos , I can guarantee that you did not read the Party manifesto for the last EU election because otherwise you would know where UKIP stands on rural issues and animal rights.
You have also not appreciated that the point of the EU is that every country/MEP has the right to vote on all issues brought before them whether they concern them or not. This is one of the main reasons I am against the EU because we can be outvoted now on almost any issue which may be of major significance to us and of total irrelevance to other countries

Well said Jean I think Norton Sage has a lot to learn about the way the EU is run.

Agreed...almost all of us are kept firmly in the dark about the EU....but we have no excuse for ignorance about the USA`s presidential election!

Let`s see whether the entire BBC decamp to the far flung reaches of the EU to cover the 2009 EU parliamentary election.....some hope!

Yes - well said, Jean!

They live in Cloud Cuckoo Land, all pro-EU people!

We have to either convince them, kill them, or change the system - the solution is simple.

..and it WILL come to one of these three - sorry, but they need to be told that!

It will be "them or us", when the chips are down, we all realise that, I think.

No more Mr.Nice Guy!

We must try hard to convince them first, though - eh?

I have in front me the generic leaflet for the UKIP list dropped through my door no mention of animal rights.

Just because I criticise UKIP it doesn't mean I am pro EU indeed the UKIP's behaviour since the elections suggests to me they are luke warm on being anti EU and do the anti's a huge diservice.
With UKIP's lily livered approach to the EU there is no chance we will leave.

For heaven sakes show some leadership. IF Natrass wrote to the paper about front on EU issues rather than bull fighting the anti EU cause might get somewhere.

Attacking Spanish bullfighting and stopping Belgium's growing tobacco will not get my beloved country out of the EU.

In one small way I agree with you Norton sage. BUT what the UKIP MEP has pointed out to you and every one who has read his letter is just an amount of wast of our £45 million a day which gets pured into the EU cesspit. The lily liver approach I disagree with , because around this country UKIParty is gaining momentum so successfully ,that the BNP propaganda machine has switch its entire effort at it in one way or another.
