I want what is best for foxes and deer

SIR – John Robins of Animal Concern needs to get a life if he’s seriously considering contraceptives for deer!

He sounds very much like the anti-hunting brigade who take no account of the fact that foxes need culling because they have no natural predator. They average five cubs a year so at that rate they will soon be running riot through towns and villages.

Shooting deer is successful because of their size. But shooting foxes usually leads to a slow, lingering death for them in their dens.

If you really care about foxes and deer then you will want what is ultimately best for both species.

some of the deer in the Worcestershire area like muntjac are no bigger then a dog fox.

so to say there easier to shoot so offer a clean kill is wrong. its down to the person taking the shot.

if your not sure of range, safety and a clean hit you shouldnt be shooting at live targets
