Keep off our parking, I can’t stand it any more

SIR – I live in the Arboretum area, and the other night I drove around the area five times to find a legal parking space, but ended up parking on Lansdowne Crescent.

We have a “restricted access for residents only” sign for the Arboretum, but people do not adhere to it. People working in the area, or just going shopping seem to use the Arboretum as a car park.

Lots of residents have had several car parking offences given because the area is so overcrowded with cars of outsiders.

The residents in Ronkswood near the hospital have had their “restricted access” enforced, why can’t the Arboretum? Instead of penalising the residents, penalise the others.

The events of the other night were not a one off.

I just wonder where I will have to park tonight – the racecourse? Malvern? or Hereford?

The other night was the last straw!

Worcester.

By parking in the crescent you join the 30 or 40 cars per day, some of them double parking to save walking a few yards more. But then perhaps this was the wisdom of the then City Councilor Margaret Wills when she launched a petition to reverse the decision by the planners not to re-open the Crescent, which ended up in costing we tax payers over £1 million pounds to repair and strengthen the road and wall along the crescent. Another example of New Labour wisdom
