SIR – I took a personal interest in the case of the lady in Harrow who was accused of trying to get her sibling into a good school.
I actually went to Pinner Park School in 1948 and it was a good school then – I passed my 11 plus. You cannot blame anyone for ‘cheating’ to try and get the best for their children. In fact the biggest cheats are the members of our own government who are continually trying to tell us how good our education system is while sending their own children to private schools.
Even our own local MP is at it. He tells us in last week’s column how the Tories would cut spending in education and therefore we would lose teachers and assistants. Firstly since when was he a Tory spokesman and secondly when will his government bring Worcester in line with everyone else in the country for education spending? We have the second lowest allocation spending allowance in the UK.
FRANK LLOYD,
Worcester.
