Give the elderly their bus passes

SIR – With the council under-spending £700,000, will this mean they won’t be asking the tax payer for more money next year?

As it was the elderly who took most of the pain with the cutbacks, one thing they can do now is give the elderly their bus pass with no silly restrictions.

JOHN SHEARON,
Worcester.

Johns letter drawing attention to Worcester Council's been unable to fund additional benifts for elderly residents when it has a large underspend, seems to me to be a proper subject for serious debate. How sad then that the first 2 responders add nothing
but rudeness, It cheapens the service WN provides and is not an isolated occurance.

I am a full time student and I find it very difficult to find the £195 a year I have to pay to use the buses. Where is the support from the council for people like us??

The elderly get it all handed to them on a plate and then moan about it, I just wish people like John could just apperciate what gift they have been given here with their free passes.
