SIR – Oh behalf of Worcester Music Festival committee I would like to extend my huge thanks to everyone who took part in making the event happen the other weekend, to the Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Andy Roberts, for officially opening the festival on the Friday night and to all the bands, performers, promoters, venues and organisers who all worked very hard to make it a huge success.
I would also like to thank the Worcester News for being part of our photography competition which closes on Monday. There was certainly a lot of evidence of participation in this as I went round the venues with lots of people with cameras taking pictures.
Having set the festival up with Chris Bennion last year it was amazing to see the support for it continuing this year; to see the venues packed to capacity (I thought the Pig and Drum would have to be evacuated, there were so many people there) and to see the truly wonderful musical talent that Worcester has to offer.
