Tories are sure to bring back hunting

SIR – Fox hunting is illegal and the Worcestershire Hunt have been caught red-handed.

As usual, the police will turn a blind eye to the activities of these county set snobs, who are obsessed with getting grotesque pleasure from seeing live animals torn apart. If a working class kid had been responsible he would be in court by now, wouldn’t he.

Be in no doubt, these snobs control the Tory party which is why reversing the hunting ban will be the first thing a Tory government will do.

City and County Councillor

I don't have strong feelings 'for' or 'against' fox hunting, so when the local hunt organised an open day went along with an open mind. We were made to feel very welcome and came away understanding a bit more about what they do - I still don't have strong feelings either way about hunting, but interestingly didn't meet any 'snobs' on the open day just ordinary country folk who happen to like hunting. As I understand it if the Conservatives are elected all MPs will have a 'free vote'.

I find this Alan Amos character quite questionable.

Many, many ordinary country folk follow fox hunts - introducing class warfare into the question is misleading as Councillor Amos is well aware.
He must be fairly confident that New Labour have lost the next election!!!

I am utterly opposed to hunting in all it's form's. I am also utterly opposed to Amos and his party in all it's forms. Now, the last thing I use when condemning those who hunt is the "class" card, this is what first springs to the mind of Amos, if he has no better argument, what a contemptible "little" man and some people voted for him. To use "class" as a supposed vote winner or the term "snob" as a supposed form of insult say's more about Amos than anything else could. It indicates an envious, jealous, shallow, insecure, servile approach quite unbecoming to a Councillor.

Never been one for fox hunting but I can think of several labour MPs I like to see torn apart by a pack of dogs!

Yes....I think the "citizens are definitely at the gates"!

I think you are all assuming that the Tories will "get back in" - but if they don't?

I get the distinct feeling that hunting will continue, regardless.

They actually catch very few foxes, you know - most are killed on the roads. There is one that roams the suburbs of Pershore and he/she is a poor, skinny thing, looking for something to eat at 4am in the morning.

Now - to business....did somebody ask the question "Revolution?" - or was that on another post? (The one before, perhaps?)

Revolution is finally in the air! We could start with the Cadbury's scandal! Something non-political, but getting that way! It could have been prevented, or blocked!

Where's all the English spirit gone, for goodness sake?
CS.

This letter shows what a number of labour MPs have admitted. The ban on Fox Hunting has nothing to do with animal welfare. Hunting is seen as a Tory pastime and the ban was purely political.
