Is hunting stance a true blue issue?

Sir – At last Mr Burgess has broken cover – his arguments for hunting have nothing to do with animal welfare.

He has proved that he is a true blue Tory. My attacks have never been against country people, only the morons who hunt deer and foxes and torture defenceless hares, all in the name of sport.

In his attempt to maintain the status quo, Mr Burgess has revealed his simplistic political views: “All Labour bad, all Conservative good.”

He makes the assumption that all the country people vote Tory and therefore do not support the hunting ban. I think not. He has forgotten why the electorate became sick of the Tories – sleaze, cash for questions, Lord Archer and Jonathan Aitkin imprisoned, and we didn’t even know about the duck houses, moats and heli-pads!

It's funny isn't it but looking back I realise a few Tory MPs shagging around, and one or two taking a few envelopes of cash just to ask a few questions in the House, was in fact pretty small beer. Compared to the government we have now they were whiter than white.

The entire nation has been sold down the river - literally and culturally. We are bankrupt financially and bankrupt morally. I cannot see any improvement without a massive catastrophe, a crash in living standards of epic proportions.

Oh and for the record I am against the hunting ban and the conservatives and the most definitely against the labour party!
In fact the only real difference between labour and the conservatives is that one always leaves the county bankrupt. They both are a bunch of self serving idiots who have little regard for the people who live here.

Yes Helen that is correct, The Hunting Act was not passed in order to benefit animal welfare.
It was passed for political reasons. There are a number of labour MPs who mistakenly believe that hunting is the Tory Party at play.
That along with a million pound plus payment from an animal rights group is the reason why the act was forced through wasting 700 hours of parliamentary time.

I wish they had spent 700 hours discussing the Lisbon Treaty!

We might now still be an independent, proud nation!

Yes, CS, and an hour or two trying to understand the vastly expensive Climate Change Bill which they thought was based on "consensus science", whatever that means, rather than Mr U N Pachauri's blogs.

This time, I intend to vote Tory and I am utterly opposed to hunting, so, one in the eye for Helen Smart.
I also have very simplistic political views, "all Labour bad, all Tory just not quite all bad".
I think crowquill sums it all up nicely but have I got enough time and space to start listing the Labourite equivalent of Tory sleaze, now, there was £15 million for peerages paid into a Labour sleaze account, £1 million from a tobacconist to allow him to continue cigarette advertising, no I won't go on, I want an early night and can't stay up until about 4.0am typing.
The only thing I have in common with M/S Smart is that we both dislike hunting, apart from that I think she must be on Mars or some other distant planet.

Interesting that you make the Tory's all bad, just remember it's three Labour MP's and just one Tory peer that might get prosecuted for Fiddling the Taxpayer, so now who are the biggest crooks?.

You can add the Peers that got away with it to that list 6 Labour, 2 Lib Dem, and 1 Conservative.

I couldn't care less about hunting, never done it, don't want to do it, but I do not consider it my right to tell others what they can and cannot do.
We must get away from this noo labout "nanny state" ****.
I'm afraid that we are in so much trouble, thanks to Mike Foster and his like, that when the tories do come back to power this summer, it'll be a while before we start to feel the benefits.
