Divine justice

SIR – Foxes rip fowls’ heads off, hounds tear foxes to pieces. Divine justice, if you ask me (Mr Phillpott, January 30).

That's a bit graphic, George - but it's basic nature, mate!

Put your TV on and watch any programme - nature (and cookery) programmes are on all day, every day - everytime I catch a glimpse, while changing channels, there's an animal tearing another one to pieces!

Or a big fish eating smaller fish - eating even smaller fish!

Nauseating - at teatime!

Much the same can be said of the cookery programmes, as well!

What happened to decent television?

As Alexis Sayle once said "The countryside is full of big furry things tearing little furry things to pieces"
I once read a report on the survival rate of hedgehogs released from a well known hedgehog charity hospital into a local wood. The survival rate was less than 10% and the report concluded that basically they had been feeding the local badger population!

Did we ask you, George?

One does it to survive. The other for 'fun'.

I am not so sure, evadbur. Foxes often do not eat the carcasses of fowl they have killed.

I knew someone would say that. It's still natural instinct for them to do it whereas the hounds are trained to do it for the pleasure of hunters.
