Coun Prodger, stop making me laugh

8:10am Saturday 13th March 2010

SIR – I noted with much humour the article ‘Fewer drivers and more cycles in the city’ and Coun Prodger’s championing of cycle transport as an alternative to car congestion.

This from the man who wanted to blight one half of the county with a ring road, and who has led a transport consultation which has prioritised questions on road building over any emphasis on alternative modes of transport.

It is difficult to believe that “sustainable travel is still at the forefront of the transport team’s thinking at County Hall” when so much time and money has been spent on a Halcrow consultation of a “mission impossible” northern link route.
