My pension is going up – by three pence!

SIR – I have just received my notice of pension increase from the National Pensions Centre.

Three pence per week increase on top of my £58 a week pension!

I repeat the amount – three pence.

The TV and newspapers are full of the MPs and lords with their thousands of pounds stolen on expenses. Asylum seekers get four-bedroom houses.

One of the Bulger murderers gets a cushy cell, and I get an extra three pence per week.

It cost more than three pence to inform me, with the cost of paper and envelope.

I believe it was better not to have bothered and saved for 2011 when I might get all of six pence.
