I’ve had excellent care at hospitals

SIR – I was saddened by the prominence given to the headline “Unhappy Patients” on the front cover of Worcester News, March 5.

Speaking personally, I wish to defend the staff of Worcestershire’s main hospitals, having experienced more than 12 months of treatment at Evesham, Redditch and Worcester.

I should like to congratulate my GP at St Martin’s Gate Surgery and no less than five consultants and their staff for the excellent care I have received.

There may have been complaints but I’m sure that at least some will have been due to the pressure doctors, nurses and ancillary staff have experienced – particularly during the recent periods of snow and icy weather.

Unfortunately, people make a lot more noise and fuss when something goes wrong, and we hardly hear about the times when people are satisfied.

I didn't have a problem with my treatment when I had to go to Worcester Hospital with torn tendons. They were very quick and efficient and I was dosed up and out in no time!
