SIR – I wouldn’t describe myself as particularly interested in politics, but I do recognise the difference between right and wrong.
Mike Foster wrote to my wife and I last year regarding completing the north-west link road. His letter was intriguing, hence I conducted some enquires of my own.
I discovered Worcester’s transport strategy has been deliberately delayed for several years, and as we now all know from your – Finishing ring road is ‘mission impossible’ – Saturday, February 20, Worcester transport strategy is merely a way to obtain funding for phase 1 from the Department for Transport so transport planners in County Hall can preserve their jobs during these difficult times.
What is more concerning is the absence of any public outcry against Councillor Derek Prodger for telling your paper that the inclusion of completing the north-west link road was merely a fib. Everybody should be outraged at this, regardless of their views on completing the north-west link road. That there is no outcry against Councillor Prodger is a further indication of how bad things have truly become in our society.
Mr Foster is right to suggest that a solid block of elected Conservative politicians would be extremely bad for Worcestershire. The proof of that bold assertion is the absence of any outcry against Councillor Prodger and County Hall.
