Just sheer cruelty

SIR – If the Tories win the election they are going to have a free vote to try to re-introduce fox hunting. That seems a good enough reason not to vote Tories. Because fox hunting is not a sport. It’s sheer cruelty.

Personally, I'd prefer to base my voting choice on the party who will do the most for the country, rather than an issue that will continue to divide the country.
.
And let's be honest - even if the Tories DID hold a free-vote to try to reintroduce fox hunting, I can't see it happening. I would assume that there would be more people who'd vote against it than for it.

at least this would be a free vote rather than being bullied through parliament without regard for due political process (which I believe rejected the bill). If I recall correctly, didn't Blair use emergency powers only previously used during war to force this through? (I may be wrong)

So basically Mr Shearon you are saying don't vote Tory because they would offer a truely FREE democratic vote on something. It is often said that we get the government we deserve and with thinking like yours it is probably true!

So John, you think that hunting is more important, than the state of our economy, the debt that Brown has got us into, the fiddling that went on by most of the Labour MPs, the fact that Brown never sent our Soldiers the right equipment to fight abroad so letting so many of them be killed yet your priority is Hunting, what a mis formed sad person you are.
