SIR – It is good news our new government has agreed to spend £15.4 million revamping Tudor Grange Academy.
Robin Walker MP rightly commented (Worcester News, August 7) that this was “really good news for Worcester and the community and that the work would help raise educational attainment”.
However, the buildings at Christopher Whitehead Language College, St John’s and at many schools in Wyre Forest, Sandwell and numerous other places around the country are much older and in a far worse state of repair than Tudor Grange.
The Government has scrapped the previous Labour government’s plans to improve these schools. Many may wonder how the Government prioritises its spending and ask why the educational attainment of children at these other schools does not need raising until some unplanned date in the future.
